Terms of Service

Welcome to ZIMFI. By accessing our website (zimfi.co.zw) or placing an order through our WhatsApp-based ordering system, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using our services.

1. About ZIMFI

ZIMFI is a Zimbabwe-registered technology hardware retailer specialising in Starlink satellite internet kits, WiFi routers, mesh systems, networking accessories, and professional installation services. We operate primarily via our website and WhatsApp ordering channel.

2. Ordering & Contract

Adding items to your cart and initiating WhatsApp checkout does not constitute a binding order. A contract is formed only when:

• Our team confirms your order via WhatsApp message, and
• We issue you a unique ZIMFI reference code (e.g. ZIMFI-XXXXX).

We reserve the right to decline any order at our discretion, including orders where stock is unavailable or payment verification fails. In such cases, any payment received will be refunded in full.

3. Pricing & Currency

All prices on the ZIMFI website are displayed in United States Dollars (USD). Prices are subject to change without notice. The price applicable to your order is the price confirmed in your WhatsApp order confirmation message, not necessarily the price displayed at time of browsing.

EcoCash payments are accepted and are converted at the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) official rate applicable on the day of payment. Bank transfers must be for the exact USD amount confirmed in your order.

4. Payment Terms

Payment is due within 48 hours of receiving your ZIMFI reference code and order confirmation. Accepted payment methods:

• EcoCash (converted at RBZ rate on day of payment)
• Bank Transfer (USD — account details provided on the Payment page)
• ZIPIT / ZimSwitch

Orders for which payment is not received within 48 hours may be cancelled. We will notify you via WhatsApp before cancellation.

5. Delivery

5.1 Coverage

We deliver nationwide across Zimbabwe. Standard delivery covers Harare, Bulawayo, and other major cities. Remote or farm deliveries may require prior arrangement and may attract additional charges.

5.2 Delivery Times

• Harare & Bulawayo: 24–48 hours after payment confirmation
• Other major cities: 3–5 business days
• Remote areas: 5–7 business days

Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to factors outside our control including courier delays, stock availability, and public holidays.

5.3 Free Delivery

Orders with a product subtotal exceeding USD $500 qualify for free delivery to Harare and Bulawayo. For other cities, standard delivery charges apply regardless of order value.

5.4 Risk & Title

Risk in goods passes to you upon delivery. Title (ownership) passes upon receipt of full payment.

6. Returns & Refunds

Please refer to our Returns Policy for full details. In summary:

• Unopened items: returnable within 7 days in original packaging.
• Faulty on arrival: returnable within 7 days with evidence of fault.
• Opened, non-faulty items: not eligible for return.
• Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days via the original payment method.

7. Installation Services

Installation services are carried out by trained ZIMFI technicians. By purchasing an installation service, you agree to:

• Provide safe access to your property at the agreed time
• Ensure clear line-of-sight sky access for satellite dish placement
• Ensure electrical supply at the installation site

ZIMFI provides a 30-day workmanship warranty on Basic Installation and a 60-day workmanship warranty on Full Network Setup. This covers faults arising from our installation work, not hardware faults (which are covered by manufacturer warranties).

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Zimbabwean law, ZIMFI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of our products or services. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for internet service outages, speed variations, or service disruptions caused by Starlink's network or SpaceX's service conditions, which are governed by Starlink's own terms of service.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on zimfi.co.zw — including text, logos, product descriptions, and design — is the property of ZIMFI (Pvt) Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without prior written permission.

10. Privacy

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By placing an order, you consent to us processing your data as described therein.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zimbabwe. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zimbabwe.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted to this page. Continued use of ZIMFI's services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Privacy Policy

ZIMFI respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Order information: Name, phone number, delivery address, city, and order notes submitted via checkout.
• Payment information: Transaction IDs and payment method submitted for order confirmation. We do not store card details — we do not process online card payments.
• Communications: WhatsApp messages, emails, or other correspondence you send us.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Cart data: Stored locally in your browser (localStorage) on your device. Not transmitted to our servers until you initiate checkout.
• Theme preference: Stored locally in your browser only.
• Usage data: Standard web server logs may capture IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used for security and analytics purposes only.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To process and fulfil your orders
• To send you order confirmations, reference codes, and delivery updates via WhatsApp
• To verify payment and confirm transactions
• To provide after-sales support and handle warranty claims
• To improve our website and services
• To comply with legal obligations under Zimbabwean law

We do not use your data for unsolicited marketing. We will not send you promotional WhatsApp messages or SMS unless you explicitly opt in.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share your data only with:

• Delivery partners: Your name, phone, and address to arrange delivery of your order.
• Payment processors: Banks or EcoCash only to the extent necessary to confirm your payment.
• Legal authorities: Where required by law or court order under Zimbabwean jurisdiction.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your cart data is stored in your own browser's localStorage and remains on your device. Order data collected through checkout is stored securely by ZIMFI and used solely for order management.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. WhatsApp & Third-Party Services

Our ordering process uses WhatsApp (Meta Platforms). When you click "Send Order on WhatsApp," your order details are passed to WhatsApp's platform. Your use of WhatsApp is subject to WhatsApp's Privacy Policy. ZIMFI is not responsible for how WhatsApp handles your data.

6. Data Retention

We retain order records for a minimum of 5 years for accounting and tax purposes as required by Zimbabwean law. You may request deletion of your personal data from our systems, subject to our legal retention obligations.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Object to processing of your data for marketing purposes

8. Children's Privacy

ZIMFI's services are not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted to this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Returns Policy

We want you to be completely satisfied with your ZIMFI purchase. If something isn't right, here's how returns and refunds work.

2. How to Request a Return

• Contact us on WhatsApp (+263 77 100 0000) or email (hello@zimfi.co.zw) within 7 days of receiving your order.
• Quote your ZIMFI reference code and describe the issue.
• For faulty items, provide photos or video evidence of the fault.
• Our team will review your request within 2 business days and provide a return authorisation if applicable.

Do not return items without first receiving a return authorisation. Unauthorised returns may not be accepted.

3. Return Delivery

• Faulty / damaged items: ZIMFI covers return delivery costs.
• Change of mind (unopened items): Customer is responsible for return delivery costs.

Items must be returned in their original packaging with all accessories, manuals, and documentation included.

4. Refunds

• Once your return is received and inspected, we'll notify you of the outcome within 3 business days.
• Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days via the original payment method (EcoCash or bank transfer).
• Delivery charges are non-refundable except where the return is due to our error or a faulty product.

5. Faulty Items

If your item develops a fault after the 7-day return window but within the manufacturer warranty period, please contact us. We will assist with warranty claims on your behalf. Note that warranty support for Starlink hardware is ultimately subject to SpaceX / Starlink's warranty processes.

6. Exchanges

We do not currently offer direct exchanges. If you wish to replace an item, initiate a return and place a new order via WhatsApp.

7. Installation Services

Installation services cannot be refunded once the service has been rendered. If you experience workmanship issues within the warranty period (30 days for Basic, 60 days for Full Network), we will return to rectify the issue at no additional cost.
